Installation of Dishmaster® M2000 and M2000L

Tools you will need
  • Basin wrench (adjustable wrench, arc-joint pliers)
  • Bucket
  • Towels
  • Safety goggles

Before you start:
  • 3 holes (minimum 1¼”” diameter) on 4” centers are required.
  • Do NOT spread inlet tubes apart until flange nuts are in place (step 7)
  • Plug your sink drain(s) so that no small parts will go down the drain if you drop them.
  • Assistance with the removal of your old faucet.

Installing your new Dishmaster® M2000
  1. Align the black rubber gasket around the holes in the sink/counter top.
  2. With valve handle to the left (to the right for M2000L), lower the M2000 onto the sink/counter surface and align the chrome cover with the gasket. Make sure the gasket and faucet are sitting where you want them.
  3. Lower the hose guide through the empty hole on the right side of the chrome cover.

  4. It is convenient to have a helper apply downward pressure on the faucet and the hose guide to hold them in place until completion of step 5.
  5. Place a couple of towels on the bottom of the cabinet to cushion your back. Wear safety goggles. Slip one of the flange nuts over the inlet tube fittings and screw it onto the valve body, hand tighten. Screw the second flange nut onto the hose guide, hand tighten.
  6. Make final adjustments, if necessary, to the position of the gasket and faucet so that they are sitting exactly where you want them. Tighten both flange nuts. This is probably most easily done with a basin wrench. Your helper can now stop applying pressure.
  7. Put the end of one of the supply lines in a bucket. Gently open the shut-off valve and allow water to flow until foreign matter no longer comes out. Repeat same procedure with the other supply line.
  8. Slightly spread the inlet tubes apart just enough that there is clearance to attach a supply line to the shorter of the two inlet tubes.

  9. Important for the next two steps: The inlet tube fittings are ½” straight iron pipe. They are NOT tapered pipe threads. The watertight seal is made by the gasket on the supply line. Do NOT over-tighten the water supply lines.
  10. Attach the cold water supply line to the shorter inlet tube. Tighten only enough to seat the gasket in the supply line.
  11. Attach the hot water supply line to the longer inlet tube. Tighten only enough to seat the gasket in the supply line.
  12. From above the faucet, lower the end of the hose assembly through the hose guide until the brush handle is seated in the hose guide.
  13. Locate the bent copper detergent tube (with clear plastic detergent tube attached). Insert the bent copper detergent tube into the smaller hole of the detergent hose. Insert it to the point where the bend begins.
  14. Connect the fitting on the end of the hose assembly to the fitting located bottom center on the faucet. Tighten securely.
  15. Caution: the black hose must be free to move. Do NOT loop the hose around water supply lines or drain pipes.

  16. Place the detergent tank assembly in a convenient location under the sink. Connect the free end (end with spring) of the clear plastic detergent tube to the detergent tank assembly. Please see the instructions included with the detergent tank.
  17. Use caution to NOT loop the tube around water supply lines or drain pipes. Avoid crimping or placing objects on the clear plastic detergent tube, as doing so will prevent the flow of detergent to your Dishmaster M2000.

  18. Unscrew the aerator assembly from the end of the faucet spout by turning left (counter-clockwise). From your viewpoint above the spout, this may appear to be clockwise. Remember: lefty-loosey, righty-tighty. Close the valve handle on your faucet by pulling it all the way forward.
  19. Gently open the cold water supply valve. Examine the water supply line and fittings to make sure there are no leaks. If there is a leak, tighten the fitting enough to stop the leak. Repeat for the hot water side.
  20. Slowly open the faucet valve. It is not unusual for air or air/water mixed to come out until the water lines fully refill with water. Allow the water to run until the air is out of the lines and foreign matter has flushed from the lines. Close the faucet valve.
  21. Check again for leaks. When all is well, re-attach the aerator assembly.

  22. Your new Dishmaster® Faucet is ready to use.

See the Operation page for tips and advice.

Your Dishmaster® M2000 has been tested at the factory to ensure that it works properly. However, due to differing water pressure or other conditions in your home, your faucet could possibly drip at the spout. If so, please see Adjusting the Single Lever Valve section on the Maintenance page.
